CPR & Choking Response: Confidence for Caregivers is a hands-on, education-focused class designed to help caregivers feel prepared—not panicked—when emergencies arise. This session emphasizes prevention, safety, and clear decision-making while teaching practical CPR and choking response skills for infants, children, and adults. Please note: this class is for informational purposes only and does not grant American Heart Association (AHA) certification.
Facilitated by Emily Hanwell, Physician Assistant, this class is grounded in both medical expertise and real-world caregiving. Emily brings a background in Emergency Medicine and Cardiology and is certified by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Participants will learn how to recognize signs of breathing emergencies and choking, understand when and how to activate emergency services, and practice age-appropriate responses.
