About the event

Little Food Explorers is a caregiver-and-child workshop for families with children ages 2–5 who want calmer, more positive mealtimes. This interactive experience invites children to explore food through sight, smell, touch, and play—without any expectation to eat. It’s especially supportive for picky eating, sensory sensitivities, food anxiety, or families looking for new ideas that don’t turn into battles.

Grounded in pediatric OT informed practices, the workshop focuses on building food exploration tolerance—helping children feel safe staying near new foods, interacting with them, and taking small steps at their own pace. Caregivers learn simple, pressure-free strategies they can use at home to reduce stress and support confidence around food.

What Families Will Learn

  • How to use pressure-free language around food

  • A simple Steps to Exploring Food approach (look → smell → touch → kiss/lick → bite/chew/spit allowed → eat)
