About the event
Designed as an essential complement to traditional childbirth preparation, The Supported Fourth invites families to think beyond the birth experience and intentionally prepare for life at home with a newborn. Through guided conversation, hands-on demonstrations, and shared reflection with other parents, parents explore what recovery truly looks like, what newborn behaviors are normal (even when they feel overwhelming), and what meaningful support during the fourth trimester can look like for both parent and baby. Families leave with practical tools, greater confidence, and the reassurance that the early weeks of parenting were never meant to be navigated alone.

The class is led by Shawna Slaughter, RN, founder of The Gentle Fourth.
